Unheard letter sent to Caseworker in White Plains…Is anyone out there listening/reacting to whats going on within this system?

Just something for you to take note of with Caseworkers of White Plains and Weschester County. A good friend of mine wrote this letter and never got a response.

I'm asking for the Public's help on this one, I really don't want to add this to the blog, but you as paying citizen need to hear about what's going on within the system against inter-rascisal child who has Multiple disabilities.

Dear Mr. Minano,
After I wrote you my email of 6/13, I knew that you would never reply to me and in fact you may have even ignored my email totally. Feeling that way I decided to write you this letter.

I am still quite disturbed at the way things started out Thursday. It appeared to me (during the home visit) that you were not concerned about anything except the letter that Neil's attorney wrote, and that Neil sign an agreement for services. Additionally you kept saying that Neil made a "disclosure" (To use your words) about Yvonne and that you thought it was wrong and unfair. Neil didn't make any "disclosure" about Yvonne. What he told his attorney was fact. He told his attorney what she said to him in the park about killing herself. That is not by any means a "disclosure" and you could have avoided the embarrassment of using the wrong word and trying to sound "official" by simply using the correct word which is "statement". I was very surprised by your words. It showed me that you came to his home with a biased opinion and that you didn't really care about the truth. You said you cared about the truth, but the way you talked told a different story. Everything is supposed to be about Luke.

To begin with, you called Neil at work on Thursday demanding that you meet right away. With your continued insistence, he finally agreed and left work 3 hours early. This is another reason why he has such a bad taste for the system. CPS, the courts and other agencies demand that he must do this or that without regard to the fact that by doing this they cause him to lose work and pay. That loss of income hits directly against his ability to provide a home for Luke. This system has been dragging him through the mud for some 8 months and it has no end in sight.

How can you, Mr. Minano, say that you "know" how to make things work for the betterment of the family but ignore the abundant trail of paperwork and other evidence that points to a very ill and very disturbed mother? How could you just sit and ignore what Mr. Mullens told you and continue to press for him to sign an agreement for services especially when he told you of his concerns? You need to review this case closer. CPS has not been an ally to the child Luke or Mr. Mullens who is his father and his provider. He is the PRIMARY CARETAKER as well. He IS providing above average care and again Luke is his primary concern. Time and time again under the excuse of getting Yvonne to be a mother they have forced hardship upon Mr. Mullens. There are several things that disgust me, and here one of them shines so bright that you would have to be blind not to see it. Mrs. Mullens does NOT provide one thing for her son Luke. She does not give any child support, food, gifts, clothes, toward raising him. Mr. Mullens foots ALL the bills and does what he does out of LOVE for his son. Because there are problems between himself and Yvonne, he does not use it as an excuse not to provide for his son. This is absolutely disgusting that the system completely ignores this. It seems that it cannot understand that in this case a man, a father, is the one fighting for the life of his son. Not the woman. Talk about rotten fish? Here's a whole truckload..instead of picking the things you think offended Yvonne, why not do as you are supposed to do and make sure that Luke is not put into danger?

Luke has been evaluated and is a child in need of special education. With all the evidence that is around, how can this child be subjected to a mother that does not want him. She doesnt want him to attend special education schools. She doesn't want to help raise this child. She complains and fights in court and through the system to get visitation with Luke. When they are granted, she doesn't take him. Does this make any sense to you?? Were you aware of this practice of Yvonne? She doesn't follow what is agreed and then she complains that she is denied Luke's visitation by Mr. Mullen's. The fact that CPS would participate in a court that is clearly biased against Mr. Mullen's amazes me. CPS could help Mr. Mullen's cut through the red-tape and help him get Luke into the appropriate Special Ed. program. Every day that Mrs. Mullein's prevents Mr. Mullen's from achieving this is a big loss to Luke. The Court and the Law Guardian has been assisting Mrs. Mullen's at every turn, with every delay, with every court order. Whats going to happen Mr. Minano? Who is going to be able to get back that precious time Luke misses? I was quite frankly disgusted by what you said and what you tried to do here.

Again as an outsider. AND a family friend who has been with Mr. Mullens each step of the way, I cannot understand why CPS and the courts have ignored all the warning signs (of a mentally disturbed mother), and they continue to try to derail Mr. Mullen's in his quest to provide for his son Luke and insure that he gets the proper care he needs. After all it is mentioned several times in the court records that Luke is in exceptional care with Mr. Mullen's. When will the system listen to Mr. Mullens? After something terrible happens to Luke Mullen's?? Something has to be done. Someone has to do something. Will it be you who decides to do the right thing?

That being said I challenge you to step forward and do what you are also charged with, and that is to PROTECT Luke Mullen's and with that insure that Mr. Mullen's continues to care for his son. That is how you can help this situation instead of contributing to this debacle. You told us on Thursday you came to get to the bottom of things. Instead you started to accuse the very Father who has only his sons best interests in mind and has proven it time and time again by HIS ACTIONS. What has his mother proven Mr. Minano? You know that answer. She has done absolutely nothing but try to derail, hinder and destroy both her son Luke and Neil Mullen's without any reason. So by Mr. Mullen's standing up for his son, the Courts, CPS and other agencies will punish him for it. They are currently doing this now, and I don't see any change coming. They will constantly help Mrs. Mullen's who has done everything wrong with the excuse of making her a mother. I cant believe that CPS would engage in such horrific practice to terrorize Luke & Mr. Mullen's. Why is CPS & the Court trying to play "Pygmalion" with Mrs. Mullen's?......trying to make a mother out of a woman who does not have one ounce of love for her child in her body. A woman who has done everything to destroy the stable home that Mr. Mullen's has provided for Luke. While the court ignores all the proof, and will not allow that proof nor his reply to the charges leveled by Yvonne Mullen's to be heard. All I can say is shame on the system! When will all of you get the story straight? Will it be after a tragedy occurs?? When it is irreversible? When "sorry" won't be enough?

Shame on you!
